STEPS FOR YOUR DAILY HAIR CARE ROUTINE
These are six simple steps that you need to include right away in your daily hair care routine;
CLEANSING
Shower time is more than a song performance – it’s where the magic happens. Cleansing is essential to your daily hair care routine. Shampooing or dry shampooing your hair helps to clean the cuticles of your hair, removing dirt, oil, and various products.
You don’t have to wash your hair daily, but you can do it every two or three days. Wash your hair with lukewarm water because hot water can strip natural oils away and straighten your hair. Check out the ingredients carefully before choosing your shampoo.
It’s a big NO to use sulfates as it wipes out too much moisture from your hair, leaving it dry, frizzy, and damaged.
CONDITIONING
Conditioner is a must-have in your hair care vanity. Lock in the love with a conditioner that doesn’t weigh you down. Conditioning is the next step after cleansing because it coats the hair strands by adding a protective keratin layer.
Please do not use it on the roots of hair follicles, as your scalp already produces sebum; supplying another layer will make your hair greasy and flat.
Moreover, it provides moisture to your hair, preventing it from being damaged and looking unhealthy.
DRYING AND DETANGLING
This is another critical step that you must include in your daily hair care routine. After washing your hair, we move on to dry it. Treat your hair like the delicate silk it is. No rough towels, please!
Don’t use cotton towels for drying your hair as it will produce friction among them, leading to more breakage. Let them air dry, or you can use a dryer to dry them up if you’re in a hurry.
In addition, after drying, detangling your hair is important because it looks beautiful. On top of it, dangling keeps your hair hydrated and leads to less breakage when you’re combing them.
You can always use a wooden comb instead of a plastic one because it is more gentle on your scalp. And gentle things soothe the best!
MOISTURISING
Yes, hair needs its drink too! Moisturizing involves keeping your hair moisturized and hydrated so that your hair can breathe, too. It will further prevent your hair from being damaged, your scalp will feel light and not irritated, and there will be no more tightness.
Surprisingly, it will also help to increase your hair’s strength, softness, and elasticity. So say hi to moisturizers now, for skin or hair.
STYLING
Styling keeps your hair looking fabulous all day long. Before styling your hair, always use heat protectives because these are your hair bodyguards. It will add an extra coat to your hair by protecting it from further heat damage and getting fried (lol).
Styling your hair will make you look more confident and feel good about yourself. Moreover, using good styling products is equally important, not just the heat protectants. No matter how good your heat protectant is, it will undoubtedly damage your hair if your machine isn’t.
Most of the styling has to be done by the styling machine, so choose carefully.
EXTRA TIPS:
Get regular trims to keep your hair healthy and robust, switch up your routine occasionally to avoid product build-up, and protect your locks from the sun with a cute hat or scarf.
And there you go, beauties! With these easy-peasy steps, you’re not only treating your hair right, but you’re also stepping up your hair game to the stars. Ready to shine? We know we are! Don’t forget to check out my self-improvement section so that you can slay overall!
